School Day Schedule

The school-day schedule for the 2015-2016 school year is from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Students may begin arriving to school at 8:30. 

8:30-8:55 a.m. Breakfast, Cougar Creed, Announcements 

8:55 - 9:00 a.m. Call to Order

9:00 a.m. Students are in class and instruction begins promptly. Students arriving after 9:00 a.m. must obtain a tardy pass before entering class.

Curtis is an Active School! - Mr. Shafer

Mr. Shafer has led our school in its commitment to increasing physical activity throughout the school day by engaging our partner organization, Chicago Run. In response, the Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW) will pay our program fee for Chicago Run’s Runners Program this year! 

Madeleine Maraldi Award - Mr. Watson

Mr. Herald Watson was awarded the 2015 AUSL Madeleine Maraldi Award! Congratulations Mr. Watson! The Madeleine Maraldi Award recognizes outstanding teacher leaders in our AUSL network. Mr. Watson is the first Maraldi Award winner at Curtis School of Excellence and one of five recipients (out of the 75 nominated teachers) for the 2015 school year. 

AUSL Teacher Feature - Ms. Mulcahy

Ms. Lauren Mulcahy was nominated for the Teacher Feature because, “[she] models excellence is all that she does, from establishing strong relationships with families to demanding achievement from her students.” Additionally, Ms. Mulcahy is a mentor for future teachers in the AUSL Chicago Teacher Residency. Congratulations!
